B. Thayer Associates was subcontracted to McLaren Engineering to provide bridge diving inspection reports for several Long Island Rail Road bridges throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties including the Mill Pond Stone Arch, a single-span bridge in Oyster Bay, and the Champlin Creek and West Pond Bridges in Montauk. The B. Thayer Associates Team conducted bridge inspections to address bridge elements such as abutments, wingwalls, approaches, girders, deck elements, and superstructure.  Bridge inspection conformed with the New York State Department of Transportation Bridge Inspection Manual and with the Federal Highway Administration Bridge Inspector's Training Manual 90.  Findings to date include fatigue, steel corrosion, concrete spalls, settlement, or other critical points; appropriate solutions have been recommended. Reports documenting these findings have been submitted for review.
